What Fun with Basic Grey

Good morning!  I'm sharing a double layout today with Basic Grey's Carte Postale.  In this layout I decided to use different photo sizes than I normally would, a 5x7 photo along with wallet size photos.

When designing a double layout I love using the two pages as one canvas, centering the design and splitting it right in half.  Here I wanted the 5x7 photo to be the focal point of the layout with a bunch of fun happening around it!  Fun little wallet photos and a variety of fun embellishments.

There's some great flair, alpha letters and stickers to choose from in this collection!

I had lots of fun with this!  Hope you enjoyed it and found some inspiration today!

Best Day Ever Card

I'm here today sharing my latest project with Fotobella's Design Team.  This project was made with Basic Grey's Carte Postale Collection.  The inspiration for this card was actually Fotobella's Sketch for this month's layout challenge.  I loved all the layering and wanted to incorporate it into a card.  So I did just that, and I think it created some great dimension without having to add a lot of embellishments.  This collection is travel themed but as you can see here it has versatility and can be used in other ways.

One of  the embellishments I did use from the collection were the fun chipboard arrows!

I love the color combinations that this collection offers.  All the papers look great together and don't necessarily have to be used for a travel themed project.  Check out the Basic Grey Carte Postale Collection and all the fun goodies it includes!

Have a fabulous day!

Travel Keepsake Box

Happy New Year!  Today I'm sharing my first project of the year with Fotobella's Design Team using Basic Grey's Carte Postale.  It's a great travel collection.  When I travel I'm always picking up little things along the way that I can scrap later with my photos.  My little trinkets usually include tickets, fun coins, business cards, matchbooks, etc.  I thought it would be fun to create a keepsake box to keep those treasures.

I found the perfect box for my project by going through our Christmas aftermath...(aka trash!)  The iPad Mini box fit the bill!  It's a nice, sturdy box.

Here is the Carte Postale Collection and all it's goodies I had to choose from.

I covered the inside and outside of the box with patterned paper.  Using the alpha stickers, I put "Keepsakes" on one of the tags. The rest of the embellishing was done with the Element Stickers, Flair, Metal Tabs and Page Flags.  I tied a denim ribbon around the box to finish it off.

And there you have it, a nice keepsake box to store away all those fun travel treasures you have been collecting.  For the tutorial to this project visit Fotobella's blog.  Stop by Fotobella.com to see all the great pieces in this collection and stay tuned for more fun travel projects I'll be sharing.
