Vintage Christmas w/ My Mind's Eye

How many days 'til Christmas?  I don't know and I'm too afraid to look!  So I won't give the countdown either.  Today I'm featuring a project made for Fotobella's Design Team using My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas Collections.  It is a beeeaaauutiful collection, oh my!  That's why I LOVE My Mind's Eye!

The papers are already beautifully embellished and there are lots of great goodies to go along with them.  Fotobella.com has the whole collection bundled up for you in the I Want It All Bundle

With my bundle I created a 2-page layout.

Because the paper is already embellished, I kept it simple.  I cut out a bracket shape to matte the photos with, made some flowers and added a few rhinestone and chipboard stickers.

Here are a few detail shots

Kid's Craft with Imaginisce

So I was going through my desk not long ago and unearthed a page I had torn out of a magazine over 3 years ago.  It was a cute and simple way to make a Job Chart.  I didn't need it back then because my kiddos were so little.  Which explains why it got lost in my desk!  But now the kids are getting to be around the age where they can handle a few job assignments.  Our house will be getting much busier in the coming months and a little organization won't hurt.  This project is super easy to make and can be fun for kids to do.

To start out, you need three basic supplies, all of which I just found around my house.

Bamboo Skewers, Straws and corrugated card board (I cut a lid off of a box).

To start:
1.  Cut the corrugated cardboard into 2 pieces.  The first measuring 7 1/2 in. long by 4 in. wide.  The second piece 7 1/2 in. long and 2 in. wide.
2.  Using approx. 8 bamboo skewers, slide the ends into the corrugated cardboard pieces.

  3.  Cut the straws into 8-1 inch pieces and cover the straws with washi tape.

4.  Slide the wash tape covered straw pieces onto the bamboo skewers that you have placed in the cardboard and then attached the smaller piece of cardboard to the other side.
5.  I used chipboard as the backing. The chipboard backing should measure that 12 in. wide by 7 1/2 in. tall.  Cover the chipboard with patterned paper before gluing all the pieces to it.
6. Glue the cardboard bamboo piece to the chipboard.

Once you have done that, than you can cover the cardboard pieces with patterned paper and embellish it to look all pretty :)  I used a combination of Imaginisce's Love You More, Childhood Memories and Good Dog Collections for the patterned paper.

Complete Supplies List:  Bamboo Skewers, Straws, Corrugated Cardboard, Chipboard, Imaginisce's Love You More Collection, Childhood Memories Collection, Good Dog Collection, May Arts Ribbon, I Rock and gems, Quickutz Alligator Font, White Cardstock, Xmas Red Stickles, White Ink, White Gel Pen.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my kids craft project!  Have fun with making your own!

Need For Speed Racing Layout

A big shout out to Fotobella and Carta Bella fans out there today!  How's everyone doing?  Glad you could stop by the blog today see what's going on :)  I'm sharing a layout made with Carta Bella's Well Played collection and showing how it can used for more than just "game" themed layouts and projects.

When I saw the black & white checkered paper in this collection it immediately reminded me of the checkered flag in racing and....my racing photos that have been waiting ever so patiently to be scrapped!  So here you have it, a day of racing at K-1 Speedway for father and son.

I layered various papers, created the arrows with the Chevron paper, made the title with black thickers and layered a couple of stickers from the collection.

I can't wait to scrap the rest of these photos to go along with this layout.  You can get your own Carta Bella Collection at Fotobella.com and get to scrappin' your photos that are also just waiting be be scraped.  This collection may be just what you need!

Have a fabulous day!

Lucky You Birthday Card

Hello there, I'm glad to back to share a card today that I made for my nephew's 9th birthday.  The Carta Bella Well Played collection is a fun collection that can be used for more than just a "game" theme.

I started with the fun and bright zig zap paper for the base of the card.  I then chose the tic tac toe paper since it is perfect for a kids card.  I made a pocket with that and tucked the playing cards inside, using the 9 of clubs card in the center since my nephew is turning 9 year old :) I used several of the stickers in the collection and popped them up with some foam tape.  I love the festive look of this card.  Hope you enjoy it as well.  Thanks for stopping by!  You can find this great collection at Fotobella.com.

Stay Well Care Package

With the school year creeping up on us slowly, Back to School projects are in full swing at Imaginisce!

One of the things that comes to mind for me when school starts is how to keep my kiddos well!  It's usually a rough month or two for students and teachers to keep the colds and flu bugs away.  So, for my Back To School Project I thought I would make a "Stay Well" Care Package for the Teacher.  I was inspired by the traditional "Get Well" Package you tend to see.

I took a large mug and filled it with some goodies that would come in handy to fend off a cold.  I embellished the mug with the Endless Summer Collection and May Arts Ribbon for a bright and cheery look.

I thought this would make a nice gift to kick off the school year and something you may not typically see.

Supplies:  Endless Summer Collection, White Mug, May Arts Ribbon, Imaginisce Small Punch, Quickutz Sugar Cookie Font, PInkering Scissors.

Hop along with Imaginisce and Core'dinations

Welcome!  Today we are hopping along with Imaginisce and Core'dinations Design Teams to share some fabulous products and inspiration.  Join in fun, leave some comments and you'll be entered for a chance to win these fantastic prizes.

Here's a few simple things to follow:
(in order to be eligible for the prize)
1. Leave a comment on each designer's blog post & the company blog posts EACH day.
2.  LIKE the Imaginisce & Core'dinations Facebook pages.
3.  Follow the Imaginisce & Core'dinations blog.

As part of the blog hop I had the pleasure of working with Core'dinations cardstock and sanding  block.  This is such a great card stock to work with.

Selecting the dark blue card stock from the Core'dinations Dark Card stock pad worked well with the color scheme of Imaginisce's Childhood Memories Collection.

I tore the edges of the card stock to show off the core of the paper.  I also used the sanding block to sand the surface of the paper and use it for the title "at the park".  It's such a great technique and looks amazing!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

It's Your Birthday Card

Hi there!  I just wanted to pop in and share my latest project with Echo Park's Beautiful Life.  I really really love this collection and am having a lot of fun designing with it!

This birthday card is full of fun elements!  Banners, Bingo card, Alpha Stickers and Stickles combined for an eccelectic but beautiful look!  I used the hand cut banners and created a pocket.  Secured them with staples (a fun element!) and then tucked the Bingo card and Time Flies ticket into the pocket.

I love all the possibilities with this collection.  Stop by Fotobella.com and get your own.  You won't be disappointed :)

Have a fabulous day!

Chess Anyone?

I'm blogging for Fotobella today and sharing a layout made with Carta Bella's Well Played Collection.  I've had my eye on this collection and was thrilled when it showed up on my door step!  As you can see, I had the pictures waiting for this collection to arrive.

Chess anyone?  My kids loved these giant chess pieces we discovered while on our cruise to celebrate the New Year with family.  And I loved re-living those fun memories while scrapping these photos.  They are the perfect photos for this Well Played Collection.

Great patterns and stickers brought some real color pop to this layout!

I matted a few of the stickers with black card stock and popped the others up with foam tape.

This collection is really fun to work with.  Have any Vegas photos out there waiting to be scrapped?  If so, visit Fotobella.com and get yourself this collection.

Have a fabulous day!

And here is my interpretation of the sketch challenge:

I used Childhood Memories and Outdoor Adventure Collections.  So much color and fun!  Just captures the fun we were having at the park that day when my son was riding his big boy bike for the very first time!
